Whilst editing photos for this website I was amazed at how many fabulous event images I have that I haven’t yet shared with the world. So I have decided to write a few retrospective blog posts so I can showcase them in full colour glory. In July, 2009 Vintage Allsorts worked with the State Library on a glamorous salon style fashion parade in the grand ballroom of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.
The Pret-A -Porter parade featured stunning examples of French Model Gowns from the Darnell Collection , and featured Vintage Allsorts Models who brought to life a visual extravaganza, recreating the glamorous fashion parades of the worlds great 20th Century Couturiers. Compered by Curator Margot Riley , these fabulous garments were set against a nostalgic backdrop of Sydney images from the Library’s collections.

It was a wonderful sell out event and a true pleasure to work with not only the wonderful Margot Riley but also Lorraine and Grayson from Sydney’s Vintage Clothing Shop who assisted with the styling and dressing backstage.I have a few projects in the pipeline with these knowledgeable souls and look forward to sharing details soon. In the meantime I hope you enjoy these images courtesy of Louise Whelan and the State Library.
Your blog has inspired me to totally change the way I blog. I really appreciate all your hard work.
